Happy New Year Everyone! One of my New Year's resolutions was to document my life more so that I can come back in the future and remember some of the best (and worst) times in my life. I've tried the whole diary thing, but I didn't feel like it was working all that well. Along with this blog I will also be starting a bullet journal. That, however, is more for personal health benefit (sleep log, exercise tracker- that sort of thing).

So far in 2017, I have three trips planned:

-New York City, NY:

This is a trip I am taking with the journalism department at my school. We will be attending a convention on the campus of Columbia University (aka unrealistic dream school). We will also be touring the city. Because I am going with around 20 other people, what we do is not solely based on me. We will for sure be visiting the Statue of Liberty and the 9/11 Memorial. We will also be attending a Broadway show, but I'm not sure which one yet. This trip will be unlike a majority of others you will see from me. Most of my trips revolve around nature, relaxation, and hiking, I do, occasionally, take city trips too.

-Las Vegas, NV:

This trip was more of my parents' choosing. With me being only 16 and my brother 13, many people have been questioning why we're going to the city of casinos and gambling. Las Vegas is FULL of things to do other than night life and gambling. Our hotel itself has it's own beach and there is one hotel with a roller coaster on the roof. My family's Spring Break trip to Vegas will be taking place just one mere day after I return from New York so I asked that we do some hiking as well as city exploring. We will be venturing to the Hoover Dam and hiking around that area. I also plan on taking a cheesy Instagram picture and tackily captioning it "DAMMMMMMM". We haven't really planned a ton for this trip; My family likes to decide what we do while we're there.

-Mediterranean Cruise (Europe):

This is the trip I'm probably the most excited for. Our cruise ship will leave from Barcelona, Spain and travel to several locations along the Mediterranean Sea, including Italy and France. I have taken French for three years so it is my job to be the French translator while in France. My dad took some Spanish in high school and still remembers some of it, so he's in charge of translation in Spain. Jacob, my brother, has decided he will be the one to learn Italian for us. I think he tried for about a month then put his attention elsewhere (probably Sims). My mom's job is to simply try and relax while we're there- she doesn't enjoy international travel. I will post more on this trip as it nears.

I really want to make 2017 a year that I remember vividly in the future and one that I begin to decide a course for my life in. I only have two and a half more years of high school! Although this is a travel blog, I will also blog with things about my life. Future plans, drama, significant events- it will all be here. I hope you enjoy my stories and pictures to come! Until next time, here's a picture from one of my favorite hikes- Devil's Causeway near Steamboat, Colorado (12,000 foot summit!).
